Die in der großen Koalition heftig umstrittene Steuerförderung von Biokraftstoffen soll nur leicht zu Gunsten von Ethanol und Pflanzenöl nachgebessert werden. Neben geringfügigen weiteren Korrekturen bleibt es dagegen bei der Vollbesteuerung für herkömmlichen Biodiesel aus Raps von 2010 an.

... Die Steuerbefreiung für reines Pflanzenöl als beliebtem Kraftstoff bei Spediteuren soll bis Ende 2007 verlängert werden. Ab 2008 soll ein "realistischer" Steuersatz erhoben werden. Das Bundesfinanzministerium muss ihn auf der Basis von Übersubventionsrechnungen ermitteln. Zunächst waren 15 Cent ab 1. August 2006 vorgesehen. Zu diesem Termin soll die Besteuerung von reinem Biodiesel aus Raps nunmehr mit 9 statt der geplanten 10 Cent starten. "Es kann gut sein, dass wir in 2008 schon etwas höher als 10 Cent liegen", sagte Schultz. Ab 2010 beginne hier die Vollbesteuerung.
