Die im Rahmen des Energiesteuergesetzes vom Bundeskabinett beschlossene Besteuerung von Biokraftstoffen wird kritisch aufgenommen. Nach dem am 15. März beschlossenen Energiesteuergesetz müssen ab dem 1. August 2006 für reinen Biodiesel 10 Cent pro Liter Steuern gezahlt werden. In der Beimischung zu fossilem Kraftstoff beträgt der Steuersatz 15 Cent pro Liter. Reines Pflanzenöl, soweit es als Kraftstoff genutzt wird, soll mit 15 Cent je Liter besteuert werden.

Auch der bayerische Landwirtschaftsminister Josef Miller kritisierte die Biodiesel-Steuer als zu hoch und bezeichnete den Vorgang als "Rückschlag für eine optimale Markteinführung". Insbesondere kritisierte er die Besteuerung von reinem Pflanzenöl als Kraftstoff in Höhe von 15 Cent pro Liter. Nach Aussagen des Ministers bringe die Besteuerung 120 dezentrale Ölmühlen in Bayern in wirtschaftliche Probleme. ...
